Funds Set Up for Accidentally Shot Teen

The family of a young man accidentally shot and killed in Monroe last Saturday is now seeking help from the community.
MONROE -- The family of 18-year-old Quintarius Brown, who was accidentally shot last Saturday, has announced funds have been set up in his name.

Late Saturday night, Brown was at a friend's house on Bunch Circle in Monroe when he was somehow accidentally shot, according to Monroe Police. Brown was eventually taken to a Shreveport hospital.

He succumbed to his injuries at 5 a.m. Monday.

Police, however, are still investigating the shooting. They told KTVE/KARD the gun that injured Brown was removed from the cime scene and is still missing to this day.

The family told KTVE/KARD a benefit fund has been set up that anyone can donate to at any Chase bank. The funds will go directly to funeral costs for Brown's family.

If anyone wishes to donate, they can via check or money order made out to Aaron Brown, Quintarius' father. The memo on any donation can be made out to the Benefit of Quintarius Brown.

As KTVE/KARD first reported on Monday, Quintarius' family is holding a candlelight vigil in his honor at their home on 100 Mays Drive in Monroe at 6:30 p.m.

The family also said donations can be made at the Smith Funeral Home on Winnsboro Road in Monroe.
