Family Dispute Turns Violent on Blanks Street

A family dispute turns violent when a family members starts firing a handgun.

MONROE -- A family dispute turns violent when a family members starts firing a handgun.

Monroe Police responded to a family disturbance in the 4100 Block of Blanks Street around 7 p.m. on Christmas Day.

 Police say Bobby Johnson became involved in a dispute with his wife inside their home. Johnson was intoxicated at the time of this incident.  

Johnson’s son attempted to stop the dispute, at which time Johnson retrieved a handgun.  

The son left the home and was followed by Johnson who fired the handgun one time.  

The son told officers that Johnson fired the handgun at him.  

Johnson gave a statement that he fired the handgun in the air.  

Johnson was arrested and booked at OCC for one count of Aggravated Assault with a Handgun.  

No one was injured during this incident.
