Dean Hart Jr. Ordered Held Without Bail Until Tuesday Hearing

Dean Hart Jr, the man accused of holding his wife against her will and a lengthy standoff with police, was ordered held without bond until a hearing on next Tuesday.
Monroe -- Dean Hart Jr, the man accused of holding his wife against her will and a lengthy standoff with police, was ordered held without bond until a hearing on next Tuesday.

The District Attorney filed a motion this morning requesting a bail hearing for the Monroe businessman.

Hart was taken into custody late Monday night after the standoff with Monroe Police.

Police say over the weekend Hart held his wife at their home against her will. She was able to escape and call police, leading to the standoff.

Hart is facing seven counts, including false imprisonment, second degree battery, aggravated assault, second degree kidnapping and forcible rape.

According to the arrest warrant, the incident between Hart and his wife began over a cell phone which was given to her by her ex-husband so she can speak to their children.

The court hearing is set for next Tuesday at 9 a.m.

During the hearing Thursday morning Hart asked the judge about the possibility of house arrest, but the judge said it was premature for that.
