David Vitter Over $800,000 to Louisiana Highway Safety Commission

U.S. Senator David Vitter announced today that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will award $815,380 in grants to the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Senator David Vitter announced today that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will award $815,380 in grants to the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.

The grants will support motorcyclist safety, occupant protection, and State Traffic Safety Information Systems.

“The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission plays an important role in protecting drivers and passengers throughout the state, and I’m pleased to see them getting this support,” Vitter said.

State and Community Highway Safety Grants are authorized under the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21).

Vitter is the top ranking Republican on the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, which has jurisdiction over transportation and infrastructure policy.
