A German tourist visiting central Florida has a vacation to remember for all the wrong reasons after a shark took a chunk out of his leg on Tuesday.
Authorities say the 42 year old tourist was wading in the water at Shepard Park on Cocoa Beach, when a shark took a bite out of his leg.
Witnesses say the man was able to walk out of the water on his own, his leg badly bloodied with puncture wounds.
"He had a big wound on his upper foot and it was just gushing with blood. I told him to just stand where you are. I'm about to get the lifeguard because if you move a bit more you will bleed to death. Because it was just gushing out of him. He was very pale and he couldn't communicate because he had lost so much blood," said one witness.
Officials say the man is expected to survive.
It's unclear what kind of shark it was, but officials believe it was about four feet in length.
