Severe Weather Possible Tonight

The ArkLaMiss could be dealing with severe weather tonight.
THURSDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE:

The forecast for Thursday generally remains unchanged. A MODERATE RISK for severe weather has been maintained for areas along and north of I-20. There are still some inhibiting factors that could slow storm development early tomorrow. However, severe storms are still expected tomorrow night through early Friday morning.


WEDNESDAY MORNING UPDATE:
Wednesday, April 2nd- Moisture increases at the surface and higher in the atmosphere. A few weak disturbances will bring the chance of a few storms today, from noon until the late evening. Some storms could be strong to severe. A SLIGHT RISK of severe weather will be north of I-20. Mainly in south Arkansas. Damaging winds and hail could be possible a storms track toward the north.

Thursday, April 3rd- A strong low pressure system will sweep the ArkLaMiss Thursday. Plentiful moisture ahead of this feature along with strong wind fields will enhance severe storm potential. A MODERATE RISK of severe weather has been issued in the Storm Prediction Center’s Day Two Outlook. This enhanced area is along/north of I-20. A SLIGHT RISK is highlighted for the rest of the ArkLaMiss.

Storms will fire up ahead of a cold front. Storms could begin for those west of HWY 167 around 3pm and spread eastward during the evening and overnight hours. Damaging winds, hail, heavy rain, and a few tornadoes will be possible. The front will clear by 7AM Friday.
