Veteran Moves Into Donated Home

As part of what's called the Veterans Village Project, Habitat for Humanity dedicated the house to a North Little Rock Veteran.
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR (KARK) -- Community matters for a local veteran who received a new home and another surprise during a special ceremony Friday in North Little Rock.

As part of what's called the Veterans Village Project, Habitat for Humanity dedicated the house to John Kendall.

But that's not the only "gift" Kendall received today.

His two daughters -- one whom he hasn't seen in more than 30 years -- showed up.

He said, "I was in tears. It was a miracle that I said would never happen."

Kendall was one of 45 veterans forced to leave the Little Rock Veterans Home when it closed in 2012.
