UPSO Arrests Man Who Threatened to Blow Self Up

A man was arrested Sunday in connection with an April 5 incident where he threatened to blow himself up.
FARMERVILLE (UPSO) -- A man was arrested Sunday in connection with an April 5 incident where he threatened to blow himself up.

Timothy Griffin, 58, of Downsville was charged with criminal trespassing, resisting an officer by force, communicating false information of a planned arson, public intimidation and retaliation, criminal mischief, simple possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana-third offense.
 
His total bond was set at $36,300. Griffin remains in the parish detention center.
 
A complaint against Griffin was called in April 5 when he threatened to blow himself up along with other people at a residence near Farmerville. 

Others at the residence were able to get away and deputies started negotiations.
 
He was eventually taken into custody and sent to LSU Conway Hospital in Monroe for mental evaluation.

After his release from the hospital, Griffin was arrested on warrants.
