UPDATE: Sears Theft Suspects Arrested

Monroe Police have taken two people into custody in relation to a reported theft at Sears in Monroe in January.

UPDATE 2/05:

MONROE -- Monroe Police arrested two suspects in relation to the theft at a Sears store in Monroe last month.

Around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Monroe Police Detectives arrested 44-year old Gary Moore of Columbia and 30-year old Jennifer Bass of Grayson  in relation to the reported theft at Sears in January.  

Monroe Police received several calls and Crimestopper tips.  Based upon these tips, Monroe Police said they were able to contact Bass and Moore and ultimately arrested them.

Bass was booked at OCC for Theft and Conspiracy.  Moore was arrested and booked for Forgery and Conspiracy.  Bond is pending for both.  

Police said more arrests are pending in this case and the investigation is ongoing.  

The stolen property has not been recovered yet.  Interviews with the suspects provided information that the thefts and forgery was committed to obtain drugs.


MONROE -- Monroe police officers need your help identifying a possible thief. 

Police believe the man in these images stole electronics from Sears in Monroe on January 15th. The man used the alias "Jerry" and used a stolen check to purchase 17-hundred dollars worth of electronics from the store. The suspect left in a blue Mazda 3. A black man with the alias of 'Cockeye" and an unknown white woman was also in the vehicle.
