ULM Football Picked Fifth in Preseason Coaches’ Poll

The Sun Belt Conference released the preseason coaches’ poll and ULM was tabbed fifth in the 11-team poll. The Warhawks earned a total of 78 points in the preseason poll.
NEW ORLEANS -- On Saturday afternoon, the Sun Belt Conference released the preseason coaches’ poll and ULM was tabbed fifth in the 11-team poll. The Warhawks earned a total of 78 points in the preseason poll.
 
In 2013, the Warhawks finished 6-6 overall and 4-3 in conference play. The 4-3 mark put ULM in a four-way tie for third place and the Warhawks were one of seven Sun Belt teams (out of eight) to reach bowl eligibility.
 
UL Lafayette was picked first as the Ragin’ Cajuns tallied 121 points. Arkansas State (102), South Alabama (98), Troy (84), ULM, and Texas State (70) made up the top six in the preseason poll.
 
Appalachian State (47) was picked seventh, followed Georgia Southern (44) and Idaho (29). Georgia State (27) and New Mexico State (26) rounded out the poll at 10th and 11th, respectively.
 
The Warhawks will kickoff the 2014 season at home as it welcomes Wake Forest to JPS Field at Malone Stadium for a nationally-televised Camo-out contest on Thurs, Aug. 28 (ESPNU, 6 p.m.).
