Tropics Outlook 10-12-2014

A recent boost in tropical activity for the Atlantic Basin.
MONROE / EL DORADO -- The tropics have become relatively active recently in the Atlantic Basin.

Tropical Storm Fay struck Bermuda on Sunday with winds over 60 mph. Fay poses no threat to the US and is headed out to sea.

Tropical Storm Gonzalo was located just to the northeast of the Lesser Antilles on Sunday. Even though Gonzalo could intensify to hurricane strength by next week, it looks like it will curve north and then northeast out to sea like many storms before it, this season.

Regardless of the recent boost in activity, it still looks like the northern Gulf Coast won't be seeing any significant tropical activity for the next 5 or so days.

You can get the latest official info from the National Hurricane Center.
