OUACHITA PARISH (KTVE/KARD) - An interstate traffic stop results in the seizure of 39 kilograms of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $3.9 million dollars.

Officers with the Metro Narcotics Unit conducted a traffic stop on I-20 at Camp Road, Saturday night on a 2004 Freightliner Truck with Arizona plates, with three other cars in tow.

A K-9 officer alerted police to a Chrysler Pacifica that was on the trailer.  A search of the car resulted in 39 kilos of powder cocaine.

The driver, Esia Adan Valencia and the passenger, Adan Baltazar Valencia both denied knowledge of the drugs.

They were arrested and placed into the Ouachita Correctional Center.

Both bonds have been set at $750,000.

Police did not have a comment at this time, but have informed KTVE/KARD that a statement will be issued on Monday.
