Tire Safety Tips from NASCAR Star Brad Keselowski

In honor of National Tire Safety week, NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski joins us with safety advice for your tires before you hit the road.
The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA), which represents the country’s tire manufacturers, and Discount Tire are teaming up on the educational campaign to urge drivers to “Be Tire Smart” before they head out on their summer journeys. Under inflated tires waste gas, wears tires out quicker, and puts drivers at risk.

Your tires are the only thing between you and the road, yet according to a recent survey by the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA), only 15% of motorists properly check tire pressure – leaving the majority with inflating gas bills and increasing their risk for accidents.

Properly inflated tires can help save lives and money at the pump. Travel can be expensive, but simple tire maintenance saves money. Drivers can save 11 cents per gallon at the pump and help their tires last longer with simple monthly maintenance.

Brad Keselowski, NASCAR’s 2012 Sprint Cup Series Champion, and teammate Ryan Blaney, drivers of the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang in the Nationwide Series. Both are RMA “Be Tire Smart” campaign spokespersons.
