Teen Arrested After Monroe Parade

A Monroe teenager was arrested shortly after the Black History Parade on Saturday morning.
MONROE -- A Monroe teenager was arrested shortly after the Black History Parade on Saturday morning.

Monroe Police said 17-year old Tyderruis Rucks was arrested after the parade for illegal possession of a concealed firearm. The arrest happened while police were investigating a fight complaint.

Police said it is illegal for anyone without a permit to carry a concealed gun in public. Police also said that because Rucks is under the age of 21, it is illegal for him to carry the gun.

Police also said that Rucks may have threatened others with the gun during fight, but there were no witnesses to confirm that part.

Rucks has been booked at Richwood Correctional Center.
