Delhi -- A short stretch of I-20 westbound was temporarily shut down Sunday afternoon due to a tanker fire.

It happened about one mile east of Delhi exit 153.  Fire crews were called when the truck driver smelled smoke from his cab. He was able to safely exit the tanker before the entire cab was engulfed in flames.

In the meantime, crews from Delhi and other agencies had to shut down all westbound lanes of I-20 in order to put out flames that spread onto the brush.

Lanes were reopened shortly after.  Luckily no one was injured.
