FARMERVILLE (UPSO) -- A Farmerville man has been arrested accused of accused of entering a victim’s residence and being pepper-sprayed.

Anthony B. Thomas, 26, of Farmerville, was booked Tuesday into the Union Parish Detention Center for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, entering and remaining after being forbidden and possession of Xanax with intent to distribute. His bond was set at $22,000.

Sheriff Dusty Gates said deputies received a call early Tuesday morning from the homeowner who reported she had pepper-sprayed Thomas after he forced his way into her residence on Phillips Ferry Road in eastern Union Parish.

After the suspect ran from the house, the victim said she opened windows to air the house out when the suspect once again entered through a back window but left when he learned deputies had been called.

When deputies arrived at the scene Thomas was immediately found and placed handcuffed into a patrol unit. Deputies then gained verbal permission to search Thomas’ vehicle were 98 Xanax bars were located inside the center console, Gates said.
