South Arkansas is Raising Awareness to an African Disease

Members of The United States Junior Chamber of Commerce, also known as the Jaycees, were in South Arkansas today, to raise awareness about a particular African disease.
El Dorado-- The group visited the El Dorado Jaycees chapter, to inform them about the issue of Malaria.

Members say it's no longer a foreign disease, and that there have been 1600 known cases of Malaria entering the U.S. in the past year alone.

To help combat this disease, a campaign called "Nothing But Nets" is underway.

Members say their mission is simple, Malaria kills, send a net, save a life.

"Our goal is to raise $100,000 and to visit 100 in-district offices for our federal senators and congressman. Also, to visit 100 of our chapters and share the story and the awareness of what we are doing," says Dyess.

The stop in El Dorado is part of a 20 state buzz tour.
