Qualifying Begins Wednesday for Spring Elections in Louisiana

Qualifying begins for the Spring Municipal Elections on Wednesday, February 12th and runs through Friday, February 14th from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. daily.
West Monroe -- Qualifying begins for the Spring Municipal Elections on Wednesday, February 12th and runs through Friday, February 14th from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. daily.

All candidates for local municipal races must qualify with their local their local clerk of court.

Once qualified, candidates will appear on the Secretary of State’s website under “Elections & Voting”, “Get Election Information”, “Search for Candidates,” or by clicking here.

The following 34 parishes will be qualifying candidates beginning Wednesday: Avoyelles, Beauregard, Bienville, Calcasieu, DeSoto, East Baton Rouge, East Carroll, Evangeline, Franklin, Grant, Jefferson, LaSalle, Livingston, Madison, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, Rapides, Richland, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, St. Tammany, Tensas, Union, Vermilion, Vernon, Webster, West Baton Rouge, West Carroll and Winn.

Spring Municipal Primary Elections will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 and Spring Municipal General Elections will be held on Saturday May 3, 2014.
