Governor Bobby Jindal is laying out the welcome mat.
West Monroe -- Governor Bobby Jindal is laying out the welcome mat.

Jindal is welcoming New Yorkers that may have been offended Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his recent comments about "extreme" conservatives.
On his Facebook page, Jindal wrote "Hey displaced and persecuted New Yorkers..You can find refuge, loving people and great food in Louisiana". Cuomo caused a stir for saying "extreme" Republicans had no place in New York's elected offices.

Tony Perkins, head of the Family Research Council, and Louisiana native isn't mincing words in describing his feelings towards Republican Congressman Bill Cassidy.
In an interview with The Hill newspaper Perkins said "I think his problem is his record. He's been pretty weak on the issues. If the Republicans want to win, they actually need to find a stronger candidate." Congressman Cassidy is trying to unseat Democrat Mary Landrieu and is also facing challenges from two other Republicans Rob Maness and Paul Hollis.

And Chris Tyson, a former staffer to Senator Mary Landrieu, is running for Louisiana Secretary of State. It's another statewide race that won't happen until 2015. Republican Tom Schedler currently holds that seat
