Political Minute January 2, 2014

Senator David Vitter hasn't decided on his political future, but he says Governor Bobby Jindal has.
West Monroe -- Senator David Vitter hasn't decided on his political future, but he says Governor Bobby Jindal has.

Vitter recently appeared as as guest on C-Span's 'Newsmaker' show and was asked if Governor Jindal will be a candidate for President in 2016.
Vitter said “ I think he’s been running. And I think he’ll be a meaningful and significant candidate.”

And then there were three.
Add State Rep. Paul Hollis to the list of Republicans looking to unseat Senator Mary Landrieu.
Hollis joins Rob Maness and Bill Cassidy in trying to take out the incumbent Democratic Senator.
Hollis filed his paperwork last week with the Federal Election Commission.

And the calendar just changed to 2014 but many politicians are thinking ahead to 2015..in particular the Louisiana Lt. Governor's race.
With incumbent Jay Dardenne looking to drop "Lieutenant" from his title, candidates are already jockeying for position.
Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser, and State Senator Elbert Guillory, both Republicans, have made their intentions clear and are raising money.
Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden, a Democrat, hasn't said for certain he's running.
