Newk's Eatery Holds Safety Fair, Celebrates 3rd Anniversary

The Louisiana State Police and Fire Fighters from the Twin Cities were on hand to give folks plenty of safety tips for the Holiday Weekend.

MONROE – Newks Eatery celebrated their third anniversary with a safety fair.

State police as well as fire fighters from the twin cities showed folks the proper way to install car seats, just in time for Memorial Day travel.

The fire department also demonstrated how fast smoke can fill a home with their mobile smoke home.

Customers were also treated to free snow cones.

The general manager tells us it's just another way to say thanks to the community.

"I think we just fit with this community, we try to stay involved in different events going on and just stay at the forefront of what's going on out there,” said GM Terry Blakeney

Next weekend the restaurant wants folks to come out and support PAWS of Northeast Louisiana during a fundraiser.
