Northeast Louisiana American Heart Association Celebrates National Heart Month with educational activities

February is national heart month and the local chapter is doing its part to educate women in the community about caring for their heart. Part of caring for your heart includes diet and exercise. Authorities in both of those areas will be on hand at the Women Move & Groove Fitness Fair slated for February 4th to speak with individuals. There will be workout demonstrations by area fitness and training centers, fit friendly snacks, healthy eating and cooking demonstrations, In Body Assessments ($10), and information about the Eat to Lose Program. Women are encouraged to get their groove on at this fun and motivational event centered around women's heart health. It will be held at the Glenwood Hospital Medical Mall from 5:30-7 p.m. There will also be door prizes. There is no entry fee.

Dr. Claude Minor will be the featured speaker at the Glenwood Hospital Lunch and Learn on February 7th at 11:30 a.m. in the Glenwood Hospital Community Room. The subject is, "Cardiac and Peripheral Arterial Disease in Women." Entry is free. There is an optional $5 lunch. Seating is limited, so, call to register at 877-726-WELL (9355).
