UPDATE: 2nd East Carroll Parish Escapee Caught

According to East Carroll Deputies, Calvin Wright of Texas has been caught.

UPDATE Saturday 12pm --  The East Carroll Parish Sheriff's Department has confirmed that the 2nd escapee, Calvin Wright has been caught. 

Police say he was apprehended on a stolen bike on LA Highway-2 headed towards West Carroll Parish. 

He, along with James Gunter escaped from the Riverbend Detention Center.

UPDATE Tuesday 9:52 a.m. -- East Carroll Parish Sheriff's Deputies confirmed to KTVE/KARD that escapee James Gunter was captured Tuesday morning.

Deputies said Gunter was found still in the parish inside the city limits of Lake Providence.

While deputies still have no leads on the second escapee, Calvin Wright of Texas, they said they will continue the search.

Both men escaped from Riverbend Detention Center at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities believed both were still hiding out in East Carroll Parish in hunting grounds behind the levee near the center.

EAST CARROLL PARISH (KTVE/KARD) -- A handful of law enforcement agencies continue their search for two escapees of the Riverbend Detention Center in East Carroll Parish.

According to the East Carroll Parish Sheriff's Office, Calvin Wright of Texas and James Gunter of West Carroll Parish escaped at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Wright is described as having brown hair, brown eyes, standing at 5'11" with a slender build. Deputies said he has a criminal history of theft, drug possession and aggravated kidnapping. Wright was most recently arrested in Shreveport for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Gunter is described as having brown hair, hazel eyes, standing at 5'8" with a slender build. Deputies said he also has a history of theft and drug possession charges, but was most recently arrested in West Carroll Parish for Sexual Battery.

Authorities said they believe both men have been contained in East Carroll Parish. Both men are believed to be hiding out in the hunting camps behind the levee near the detention center.

The East and West Carroll Parish Sheriff's Offices, Lake Providence Police and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are all looking for the escapees. Louisiana State Police is also assiting with helicopters and K9 units.
