MPD: Man Accused for Beating Wife & Holding Her Hostage

A Monroe man is accused of beating his wife and holding her hostage.
MONROE -- A Monroe man is accused of beating his wife and holding her hostage.

Police say Marcus Drumgole attacked his wife at their home on the 100 block of Forrest Avenue.

Police say the wife left the home and went to a cousin's home on the 3200 block of Alabama Street.

Police say Drumgole followed his wife and forced his way into that home, forcibly removing his wife from the home while hitting her.

Police were called and located Drumgole back on Forrest Avenue.

The Monroe Police SWAT team was called in and after numerous attempts to make contact with Drumgole, forced their way inside around 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Drumgole was taken into custody and his wife was found in the back room.

The wife was transported by hospital by ambulance for serious head and facial wounds.

Drumgole has been arrested and booked at OCC for Battery and 2d Degree Kidnapping charges. The investigation is continuing.
