Monroe Woman Accused of Killing Boyfriend's Father

A Monroe woman is charged with second degree and attempted second degree murder after hitting her boyfriend and boyfriend's father with an SUV.
Monroe -- A Monroe woman is charged with second degree and attempted second degree murder after hitting her boyfriend and boyfriend's father with an SUV.

Monroe Police say it happened last night around 11:30 in the 800 block of Burroughs Street.

Police say Markeda Porter and her boyfriend got into a fight while they sat in a 2001 GMC Yukon vehicle.

Polcie say the boyfriend got out of the vehicle to leave and was hit by the passenger door.

Police say Porter hit her boyfriend a second time as he tried to close the driveway gate.

Police say Porter then drove the Yukon through the gate hitting the boyfriend and his father.

The boyfriend was treated and released for minor injuries at a local hospital.

The father, Larry Johnson was treated at a local hospital and later died from his injuries.

Police say alcohol and drugs are believed to be involved.

Porter is charged with attempted second degree murder, second degree murder, DWI and drug charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
