Madison Parish -- Legislative Auditor Daryl Purpera delivered more details to KTVE/KARD about Wednesday's meeting in
Purpera said hospital CEO Scott Barrilleaux and Board Chairman Thomas Williams appeared before the committee, both delivering verbal reports of the hospital's financial standing.
Barrilleaux also submitted a written cash flow statement for the 2014 year to the committee. In it, Purpera said there was a projection stating if the federal government demanded the hospital to repay it's Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements, the hospital would end 2014 with a $3 million deficit.
Purpera said the committee will meet again to decide whether they will continue to monitor the hospital it if a fiscal administrator will be appointed.
Purpera said it would take a unanimous vote from the committee to begin the fiscal administrator appointment process. The committee would then ask Attorney General Buddy Caldwell to go before the Tallulah courts and ask them to appoint an administrator.
