Lt. Gov. Dardenne Visits Monroe-West Monroe During National Tourism Week

Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne is hosting a news conference in Monroe-West Monroe as part of a statewide tour celebrating National Tourism week.

Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne is hosting a news conference in Monroe-West Monroe as part of a statewide tour celebrating National Tourism week. The purpose of the tour is to create awareness about the tourism industry and the record setting economic impact it has on the state under Lt. Governor Dardenne’s leadership.

                

 In conjunction with the press conference, the Monroe-West Monroe Convention & Visitors Bureau, Monroe Chamber of Commerce, and West Monroe/West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce are hosting a “Tourism is Business” Chamber After Hours.

 

Tourism attractions will be present with information about their organizations. The MWMCVB, along with the Lt. Governor, will announce and present the awards for their “Wish you Were Here” photo contest.

 

Lt. Governor Dardenne will travel in a mini coach wrapped in Louisiana Travel’s latest tourism campaign and statistics. He will be updating his Twitter and Facebook with his experiences from the road through @JayDardenne and www.facebook.com/JayDardenne with U.S. Travel’s National Tourism Week hashtag #TravelEffect as well as Louisiana Travel’s hashtag #OnlyLouisiana.

 

The event will be held 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm on Monday, May 5 at Landry Vineyards, 5699 New Natchitoches in West Monroe
