Lincoln/Union District Attorney Not Seeking Re-Election

Voters in the 3rd Judicial District will be deciding on a new District Attorney later this year.
Ruston -- Voters in the 3rd Judicial District will be deciding on a new District Attorney this year.

Bob Levy announced Tuesday that he will not seek re-election for the post he's had since 1991.

Levy issued a statement saying he loves his job, but think its time for someone else to take on the responsibility of being District Attorney.

Levy also serves as a member of the Louisiana Board of Regents. He was appointed to a new six year term in May of 2013.

Current Assistant District Attorney Cary Brown has announced that he will be a candidate to replace Bob Levy.

Brown's colleague inside the District Attorney's office, Laurie James, is also expected to run for District Attorney.
