JACKSON PARISH (KTVE/KARD) --
The Jackson Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding an elderly man who became lost Friday morning.

Deputies are currently looking for 88-year-old Waylon Peevy of 985 Rome Road in Jackson Parish.

Jackson Parish Sheriff Andy Brown said Peevy was last seen at 7:30 a.m. Friday behind his house. Brown said Peevy usually walked the large wooded area of his property behind his house every morning, usually returning at 11 a.m.

According to Brown, when Peevy's wife and daughter living next door didn't see him return, that's when they called authorities.

Peevy is described as a white male standing at 6' wearing a green sweatshirt, black pants, black rubber boots with a straw hat.

Brown said Peevy's family believes he is still on the property.

Deputies have been searching since noon and Brown said they will continue to search into the night and again in the morning until he is found.

If you see Peevy, you are asked to call JPSo at 318-259-9021.
