OUACHITA PARISH -- Five veterans who have been wounded in combat will be treated to a hunt in Ouachita Parish on Saturday.
Representatives with the Wounded Warrior Project confirmed five wounded veterans from West Monroe, Shreveport, Lafayette, Carencro and Fort Worth, TX will be treated to the "Louisiana Hunters for Heroes" starting Saturday morning.
Wounded Warrior Project representatives also said they're planning a "Deerpocalypse" Wounded Warrior hunt from December 6th-8th near Columbia that will serve a dozen wounded warriors from all over the country, including four in wheelchairs.
Officials with the Wounded Warrior Project said they count on donations from the community every year to help put on these hunts.
They said if anyone is interested in making a donation, they can do so by sending it to:
