Stroke Awareness Month

Welcome to Home Health House Calls.

May is stroke awareness month.
As part of the campaign to heighten awareness,
we are educating the public on identifying the warning signs of a stroke.
A stroke is a serious emergency and can strike at anytime.
The Face, Arms, Speech, and Time or FAST test can help community members
Recognize the signs of a stroke.
F is for face. Note an uneven smile or face droop.
A tells us to look for arm weakness or numbness.
S stands for speech. Listen for slurred speech or difficulty speaking or understanding.
And finally T is for time. If you suspect a stroke there is no time to waste- Call 911 and get to a hospital.
