The 86-year-old Democrat, served eight years in prison for racketeering.
Bloomberg's Al Hunt reports Edwards says he will run for Congress in 2014. However, Edwards disputes that report to WAFB television in Baton Rouge, saying he's only considering a run.
If he runs, Edwards would seek the seat of Representative Bill Cassidy, who's running for Senate.
