The NBA announced today that New Orleans Pelicans forward/center Anthony Davis has been named to the 2012-13 NBA All-Rookie First Team.
Joining Davis on the NBA All-Rookie First Team is Portland guard Damian Lillard, Washington guard Bradley Beal, Cleveland guard Dion Waiters, and Golden State forward Harrison Barnes.
The NBA All-Rookie Second Team members include Detroit forward Andre Drummond, Toronto center Jonas Valanciunas, Charlotte forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Detroit forward Kyle Singler, and Cleveland center Tyler Zeller.
Davis led all rookies in rebounds per game (8.2), blocks per game (1.75), steals per game (1.17), and double-doubles (20). He ranked fourth among rookies with 13.5 points per game.
The voting panel consisted of the NBA's 30 head coaches, who were asked to select five players for both the first team and second team. Coaches were not allowed to vote for players on their own team. Two points were awarded for first team votes and one point for second team votes.
