WINN PARISH -- The Winn Parish District Attorney's office confirmed to KTVE/KARD a court date has been set for Eva Wise, the former Winnfield Animal Control Officer who was arrested in February for Animal Cruelty.

Wise's day in Winn Parish Court has been set for July 28th. Wise has plead not guilty to seven counts of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals. Initial motions will be heard on June 12th.

Wise was arrested back on February 28th and charged with Animal Cruelty by the Winn Parish Sheriff's Office.

The affidavit reads Wise abandoned the home she was renting in the 400 block of Highway 1229, leaving several dogs to starve to death.

According to the affidavit, the dogs that were found alive were so far gone they had to be euthanized on site by the Winnfield Animal Clinic.
