Concerned Citizen Helps Police Nab Car Thieves in Shreveport

Shreveport Police were able to capture two teens who spent Friday night and Saturday morning breaking into cars.

SHREVEPORT (KTAL-6) – Shreveport Police say a concerned citizen lead to the arrest of two burglars.

Early Saturday morning, the tipster called police after they say suspects rifling through cars at an apartment complex in the 6000 block of Roma Drive.

Officers were able to converge on the area and find all four suspects who then fled on foot.

Police were able to track down two suspects, 18-year old Jeremy Bell and 17-year old Laroyce Daniel-Brown.

One officer suffered minor injuries during the chase and apprehension.

Detectives believe Bell, Daniel-Brown and two others broke into at least four cars before police arrived.

Both suspects were booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of simple burglary and resisting a police officer with violence.

This is not the first time they’ve been arrested for breaking into cars. In March of this year, both were charged in connection with car burglaries at another apartment complex in Shreveport.

Police are on the lookout for the two other suspects.

The investigation is ongoing.
