"College Goal Sunday" Gets Students Financial Help

Applying for student loans can become very overwhelming very fast. That's where "College Goal Sunday" came in.
MONROE (KTVE) -- Applying for student loans can become very overwhelming very fast.

That's where "College Goal Sunday" came in.

It's Louisiana's 7th annual event held all over the state.

Lousiana Delta Community College hosted it Sunday in Monroe.

The event provided students and their families with free professional assistance in completing the primary student financial aid form called "FAFSA."

Adivisors were on hand at LDCC to help students and parents.

"This is our fifth year at Delta Community College to host this event and each time we receive cards and letters from parents and students who said that: 'This helped me so much and we appreciate it and we hope you do it again,'" said event coordinator Alvina Thomas.

Every college has a financial aid office to assist students throughout the year.

In addition to several documents, you'll need your information from your latest tax return when applying for federal student aid.
