Cold Weather Shelter Opens at Marbles Community Center

The City of Monroe is opening a cold weather shelter at the Marbles Community Center.
Monroe -- The City of Monroe is opening a cold weather shelter at the Marbles Community Center.

The shelter, located at 2950 Renwick Street, will open as a shelter at 5 p.m.

At this time plans are to have Marbles Community Center open as a cold weather shelter today (Monday) through Wednesday, February 12.

The Northeast Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross is providing cots and blankets, and the Northeast Louisiana Chapter of the Salvation Army will provide meals for those that stay at the center. Security will be provided by the Monroe Police Department.
