Bids on Security Upgrades at El Dorado Schools Approved

The El Dorado School Board is keeping safety and security at the top of their agenda.

El Dorado -- The El Dorado School Board voted and approved a $311,000 bid from JMB Construction, located in North Little Rock.

These security upgrades will benefit Washington Middle School, Murmil Educational Center, and Yocum Primary School.

The school board has decided to redo the entrances to these buildings and provide the lock up for the rest of the building.

The 3-bid approval will complete the safety essentials for all of the schools in the district.

Funding for this project is coming from savings within the school system.

“We refinanced our high school some years ago. From the money we saved in doing that, that's where we get the money to do this.”

Superintendent Watson tells us they will start working on these projects before school is out.
