Alanna Quillen- Fox 14 Anchor/General Assignments Reporter

Alanna Quillen the anchor for Fox 14 News at 9 and general assignments reporter for KTVE.
Alanna Quillen joined the NBC 10 news team in July 2012. A Dallas native, she's a first-timer to the Bayou State and is excited to explore and tell stories!

Alanna received degrees in Broadcast Journalism and French from the University of Texas at Arlington in December 2011. She started her journalism career right after high school when she worked for KEOM 88.5 FM as morning board operator. Throughout college, she spent most of her time working for UTA's award-winning student newspaper, The Shorthorn. She worked various positions at the newspaper, including photographer, editor and reporter. She also helped found and anchor the newspaper's webcast, The Shorthorn After Dark.

Before she graduated, Alanna fulfilled internships in Dallas at D Magazine, CBS 11, NBC 5, and the Nasher Sculpture Center. She also studied abroad in the summer of 2011, soaking in the French language in Paris, France.

Alanna started her first job right out of college in February 2012 at the ABC affiliate in Midland/Odessa. While there, she anchored and produced the weekend newscasts, and reported on various stories like wildfires and the oil boom in West Texas.

When she's not telling stories for KTVE/KARD, Alanna loves to travel, sing, play ukulele, spend time with her catahoula cur named Zoey, and volunteer. Her mother was born/raised in the Philippines and father was born in Louisiana, so she has a very diverse family. With deep roots in the Filipino culture, she is also involved in the Asian American Journalists Association as the Texas chapter co-president.
