Baton Rouge -- Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne is leading the Committee of 100 for Economic Development delegation to New York City Nov. 5 – 7. The delegation, including private sector leaders, economic development agencies and other stakeholders, will discuss the seafood industry, tourism, catastrophic event management and doing business in Louisiana. The three-day program will include business meetings, networking receptions and media interviews.

“I am excited to be a part of another Committee of 100 economic mission,” Lt. Governor Dardenne said. “These trips are a great opportunity to provide positive information about Louisiana’s business environment and often result in positive connections for the state, economic growth and new job creation.”

The agenda includes meetings with investment banking analysts, financial industry executives, business media and industrial site selection consultants. The Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board awarded a grant to the Committee to promote Louisiana seafood at a reception featuring the recently crowned 2013 King of Louisiana Seafood, Chef Cody Carroll of Hot Tails Restaurant in New Roads.

Additional meeting tracks will include a focus on international business development, linking Louisiana’s energy industry with those in New York, and sharing disaster recovery best practices with officials in New York and New Jersey.
