Biomedical Research Foundation, a non-profit group, now operates the hospital, as well as the former LSU Hospital in Shreveport. The Shreveport location will be called University Health Shreveport. Both facilities will reside under the University Health System.
The announcement comes after Governor Bobby Jindal's plan to privatize Louisiana's state-run hospitals. Last year, the facilities lost hundreds of millions of dollars in funding.
As of Tuesday, October 1, the hospitals still had 300 job openings. For more information, go to http://jobs.shreveporthealthtransition.org/application.aspx
Biomedical Research Foundation is also still looking for community members to serve on the hospitals' board. For more information, go to http://www.medcom.lsuhscshreveport.edu/transition/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/BRFHH-Board-Nomination-Application1.pdf
