Assault Suspect Turns Himself In to Monroe Police

The man is accused of intentionally striking his ex-girlfriend with his vehicle.
UPDATE: Monroe police say Wilson turned himself in without incident to the police.

He was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center.


MONROE -- Monroe Police are searching for a man accused of intentially striking his ex-girlfriend with his vehicle.

Monroe Police responded to a reported assault that occurred in the 700 Block of Winnsboro Road around 5 P.M. Wednesday.

Police say a motor vehicle driven by Michael Wilson of Monroe intentionally drove across a parking lot of a business and struck an ex-girlfriend.  

The female victim was on foot when struck by the vehicle.  

Police say the victim was transported to a local hospital where she is being treated for injuries received in the assault. She is expected to recover.

Police say Wilson fled the scene.  

Witnesses at the scene identified Wilson as the driver of the vehicle and provided information that showed the assault was done intentionally.  

An arrest warrant has been obtained for Wilson for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder with bond set at $80,000.
