Arkansas’ Unemployment Rate Increases to 7.5 Percent

Arkansas' unemployment rate increased by one-tenth of a percentage point to 7.5 percent in October.
El Dorado -- Arkansas' unemployment rate increased by one-tenth of a percentage point to 7.5 percent in October.

Arkansas’ civilian labor force declined 700, a result of 2,100 fewer employed and 1,400 more unemployed Arkansans. The United States’ jobless rate also rose one-tenth of a percentage point, from 7.2 percent in September to 7.3 percent in October.

DWS Program Operations Manager Bernadette Coleman said, “Arkansas’ unemployment rate rose one-tenth of a percentage point in October, as the civilian labor force declined slightly. The rate increase mirrors the trend at the national level.”
