Fox's American Idol has created some superstars in its time, and now it may be adding a U.S. Congressman to its resume.
Former American Idol star Clay Aiken is reportedly mulling a run for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. That's according to the Washington Blade, quoting sources close to the pop star turned Broadway singer.
If he runs it would be in North Carolina's second congressional district, the seat currently held by GOP Representative Renee Ellmers.
The Washington Blade reporting Aiken has been gauging support, commissioning polls, and talking to the Democratic National Committee.
If you're one of those die-hard Idol fans, season 13 of American Idol kicks off in less than two weeks with a two-part premier on January 15th and 16th from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. CST.
