State Powerlifting Championships Return to ULM

The LHSAA state powerlifting championships return to Monroe and Fant-Ewing Coliseum, on the campus of ULM.

The event kicks off on Friday, with the final day taking place on Saturday.

934 student-athletes will be competing.

Jeremy Many, from the state power lifting committee says, "Well, I think it's a unique sport where they get to watch their kids only compete against other kids as individuals, but as a team, also compete against themself. Union Parish boys, they're defending 3A champs. They're coming in very strong this year. West Monroe is the defending 5A champions. They're coming in, again, strong, getting ready for this year. Delhi Charter has a strong team in the 1A division. There's going to be a lot of representation locally for people to come out here and get behind their teams."
