Nearly a Dozen ULM Footballers Look to Impress Scouts

Under sunny and windy conditions at Malone Stadium, several players from offense and defense had a chance to impress scouts. They did the standard stuff such as the 40 yard dash, the bench press and various shuttle drills.

Cornerback Justin Baccus says, "I felt good. I put it all on the line. It's a test. Try to do my best...any kind of thing that looked almost wrong, they said keep going, keep pushing."

"Today was a good day, " says wide receiver Tre' Perrier. "There are some areas where I know I need to improve. Overall a good day. I got out here and did my best. It's all I could ask for. They told me I have a technique. Just need to get my speed up. I ran pretty fast, but, it needs to be a lot faster."

For Tyler Cain, who didn't suit up in 2016 after not being granted an additional season of eligibility, is working with a chip on his shoulder.

"Feel like I have more to prove myself, more than anybody else, and I did it today, " says Cain. "I'm glad i manned up and put everything to the side and decide to train out here and give my best effort, and I did. I'm pretty sure I put on a show for the people that are here. I'm just so thankful."

Wide out Rashon Caesar, who participated last year is hoping for another shot for an opportunity this time around.

"It just made me hungry and work harder to achieve my goal, " says Caesar. "All I can do is come out here and give it my all and leave it to God. It feels good to be back out here working with my old teammates. All I did was run the 40. I feel like I did good in that."

Even Coach Viator made a guest appearance. He saw some of the talent on the sideliens in 2016. All he could do was give a thumbs up after their performances.

"Makes us feel great, " says Viator. "Wish we could have them back. I only had an opportunity to come some of the guys like Rashon and Cain for one season. It's great to see them come out here and compete."

"MAKES US FEEL GREAT. WISH WE COULD HAVE THEM BAKC. ONLY HAD AN OPPORTUNTIY TO COACH MOST OF THEM ONE YEAR. GREAT TO SEE THEM OUT HERE AND COMPETE."
