Fresh Start at D'Arbonne Woods for David Feaster

After his February exit from Parkway High School for insubordination, David Feaster is now the face of D'Arbonne Woods' program. He gained national attention for publicly bannnig Alabama coaches from the Panthers' campus during a radio appearance.

"...I made the first phone call, and immediately I began to explore it," says Feaster. "I immediately realized it was exactly what I was looking for. As far as a place for my boys to go to school...and, I quickly realized that want to be good at athletics."

There's an empty space where the team's new football facilities will stand in a couple of years. But, before any concrete hits the ground, Coach Feaster knows he'll need to lay down the foundation for a program that hasn't seen much success, and with 35 guys on the roster in 2017.

"...You have to be realistic and you have to think about why you're here, " Feaster continued. "And, the reason we're here is to not just get state championship rings. The reason we're here is to coach young men. And, we're going to be able to do all of that, whether we have five seniors or have 20 one day down the road."

The nearly 20 year veteran has a 168-66 record in five previous stops. During his time in Bossier Parish, he had former LSU quarterback Brandon Harris. Now, there are question marks as to who will start where.

"...Never been in a situation where every position is up for grabs. I've heard coaches say that before, but I never thought it was true. This will be the first time where we have no idea who the fullback or the tailback is either..."

Now as far as if there are any regrets on the path Coach Feaster took to get here?

"From my point of view, absolutely not...right now, my attitude is we've moved beyone all of that. We've taken the approach of they meant it for evil and God meant it for good, and that's the approach we've taken. Coming in here and find out what the Lord wants us to do over here."
