According to 42 hospitals that responded to a survey from the state, they're seeing a 2% drop in ER admissions from the first three months of this year compared to last year.
Arkansas Compromise Medicaid Expansion, called the Private Option, has insured over 100,000 low-income Arkansans over the last six months.
"I think we're delivering on what the promise of the private option was. That we would alleviate the financial threat to local hospitals for their uninsured," says Arkansas Surgeon General Joe Thompson.
Thompson added 41 other hospitals in the state did not respond to the survey, but believes the early data is representative of hospitals statewide.
