Little Rock -- (KARK)  Medical marijuana advocates say they have about 15 percent of the signatures needed to get the issue on the November ballot.

Arkansans for Compassionate Care told the City Wire the group has about 10-thousand signatures.

It needs 62-thousand to take the issue to voters.

The deadline is July 7.

The group says its confident Arkansans will support legalizing medical marijuana because of the increased awareness about the benefits.

Arkansas voters rejected medical marijuana in 2012.
