David Sterling Endorses Leslie Rutledge for Attorney General

Little Rock -- Leslie Rutledge is picking up the endorsement of another former rival in her bid to become Arkansas' next Attorney General.

On Sunday David Sterling announced his endorsement of Rutledge.

“Leslie Rutledge is the one candidate for Attorney General who will stand up to the Obama Administration and push back against an overreaching government in Washington. I’m supporting Leslie because she will fight to restore the proper balance between the federal government and the states,” Sterling remarked. He added that Rutledge’s support for the Second Amendment, the right to life, and traditional marriage were other factors in his decision to support her candidacy.

Rutledge recently defeated Sterling in the runoff election for the GOP nomination.

Patricia Nation threw her support behind Rutledge after finishing third in the primary election in May.

Rutledge will face Democrat Rep. Nate Steel and Libertarian Party candidate Aaron Cash in the November general election.
